Opus Vitae is pleased to be recruiting on behalf of our client, who are seeking a skilled CAD Sales Engineer to join their team in Trafford Park, Manchester. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in the vehicle bodybuilding industry, supporting both sales and manufacturing through technical CAD design and process efficiency improvements.
What you could be doing...
- Creating detailed CAD designs for custom vehicle bodies to support the sales quoting process
- Developing parts and materials lists based on CAD drawings to streamline quoting and manufacturing
- Producing engineering drawings and technical specifications to optimize production and minimize downtime
- Collaborating with clients and internal teams to understand project requirements and constraints
- Ensuring all designs comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements
- Working closely with production teams to enhance manufacturability and efficiency
- Assisting in product development and innovation to improve vehicle body designs
- Conducting design reviews, stress analysis, and material selection assessments
- Maintaining accurate design documentation and revision control
What we’re looking for...
- Proven experience in CAD design within an engineering or manufacturing environment
- Proficiency in relevant CAD software (SolidWorks or similar preferred)
- Strong understanding of fabrication, metalwork, and vehicle body structures
- Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance standards
- Ability to develop practical, efficient solutions for custom vehicle designs
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with sales teams, production teams, suppliers, and clients

This is a permanent role, and you will be employed directly by the employer. The role operates Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week.
