Wills and Probate Solicitor / Legal Adviser

About the Role

As part of the Wills and Probate Team, you will handle a diverse range of private client matters, including:

  • Drafting wills, powers of attorney, and administering estates.
  • Advising on probate, trust administration, and inheritance tax (IHT) planning, including complex estates and agricultural or business interests.
  • Balancing a busy caseload while maintaining exceptional client care and adhering to high professional standards.

The role also offers opportunities to contribute to business development activities, including networking and blog writing, and to assist in mentoring junior staff members.

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

  • Qualifications: Qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive.
  • Experience: 3+ years PQE in wills and probate/private client matters, with a strong understanding of statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications, effective use of IT systems, and legal case management software.
  • Proven ability to manage a full caseload, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines with accuracy and attention to detail.

Desirable:

  • Qualifications: STEP accreditation or membership of relevant panels.
  • Familiarity with the Law Society Conveyancing Quality Scheme.
  • Experience supervising junior team members.

You’ll be joining the firm’s Commercial Property Team, where you’ll manage a diverse caseload of legal matters, including:

 

  • Acquisitions, landlord and tenant matters, agricultural property, woodlands, and telecoms.
  • Negotiating and preparing leases, easements, tenancy agreements, and other key legal documents.
  • Balancing your caseload while delivering exceptional client care and upholding high professional standards.
