Responsibilities

As a Night Assembly Operative, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Packing: Carefully package products to meet quality and safety standards.
  • Operating Machinery: Operate and monitor assembly line equipment, ensuring optimal performance while adhering to health and safety protocols.
  • Picking Items: Accurately select and prepare raw materials or products for assembly.
  • Conduct routine quality control checks to identify and report any defects or inefficiencies.
  • Follow detailed instructions and procedures to meet production targets.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to improve processes and resolve challenges.
  • Adhere to company policies and workplace safety guidelines.

Qualifications

We are looking for motivated individuals with the following skills and qualifications:

  • Previous experience in assembly, packing, or machine operation (preferred but not required—training provided).
  • Ability to work efficiently and maintain focus during night shifts.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
  • A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and adapt.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Physically fit and capable of standing for extended periods, as well as lifting and moving items as needed.
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations in a warehouse or industrial setting (advantageous).

Day-to-Day

Your typical day as a Night Assembly Operative will include:

  • Starting your shift with a safety briefing and review of daily production goals.
  • Operating and monitoring machinery to assemble or package products efficiently.

What you could be doing...

  • Working independently to meet set timelines and quality standards
  • Interpreting engineering and fabrication drawings and using your initiative to complete tasks
  • Performing drilling, assembly (jigged and un-jigged), and using power tools safely and effectively
  • Conducting MIG/TIG welding of fabricated parts in line with engineering drawings and company standards
  • Installing insulated panels on commercial freezer bodies
  • Carrying out basic wiring for lights and fixtures on commercial vehicles
  • Fabricating components and ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards
  • Unloading deliveries and ensuring materials are stored correctly
  • Adhering to health and safety procedures and ensuring compliance with company regulations
  • Planning and prioritizing workload effectively with minimal supervision
